09/25/2005: "First quarter grades coming soon!"
Part of the transition to high school is the adoption of personal responsibility. Each student needs to address the issue of personal responsibility for their learning. Excuses are unnecessary when one always tries the hardest to do ones best. This means:
Doing all assignments.
Do them on time.
hand them in, with your name on.
Always performing to the best of your abilities.
That's how to get an "A"
Take a look at your grade.
Look at how many assignments are missing
Ask yourself, "why are they missing?" If even one student did that assignment, then the assignment was clearly assigned, with requirements and a deadline. Maybe those students use and check their agendas?
Paying attention in class to requirement and deadlines, providing late work when properly excused will lead to the certainty of a passing grade.
Putting things off, not doing them at all will lead to failure.
Check grades this week...address the issues they might raise.
If you have an "F", expect a phone call to your parents.
